She talks about her life, her work and the creative tradition which has nurtured a generation of black women writers. Includes an interview with the director Steven Spielberg who talks about the challenge of translating the book into a popular film. Actress Whoopi Goldberg, whose performance in the film brought her critical acclaim, is also interviewed.
